Our Journey
About Chamak Dhamak
(Pronounced: Chuh-Muhk Dhuh-Muhk)
Chamak Dhamak is a Hindi phrase that means sparkle, dazzle, and everything that makes celebrations feel magical. For me, it’s more than a name — it’s a reflection of my heart, my roots, and my story.
My Journey
I’m Sonal Jain — an immigrant, a mother, and a woman who arrived in the U.S. with just 20 days of knowing her husband, a suitcase full of dreams, and no idea how to work a washing machine.
Leaving behind the familiar streets of Hyderabad and stepping into a new country was overwhelming. I had to rebuild everything from scratch — my support system, my identity, and my sense of belonging. Through those early years, what kept me going was my passion for creativity, my love for Indian culture, and the quiet strength I discovered in myself.
I started Chamak Dhamak not just as a business, but as a way to hold onto who I am — and to pass that on to my children and community. It became my canvas, my celebration of heritage, and my way of saying, you can belong to more than one world and still be whole.
The Heart Behind Every Gift
Everything I create at Chamak Dhamak is personal. It’s inspired by childhood memories of festivals in India, family traditions, and a deep belief in the joy of thoughtful gifting. This is my way of bringing a little piece of home to every doorstep — especially for those of us building new homes far from where we began.
Today, Chamak Dhamak is a women-owned small business based in Ohio, where every order is handcrafted with love, care, and meaning. And while I’m proud of how far it’s come, what I cherish most is how it connects me to people like you — those who celebrate love, tradition, and beauty in every form.
